MOORHEAD — Maggie Levie from Evansville was awarded a $15,272 Ozhiitaa School Social Work Scholarship from Minnesota State University Moorhead .
Levie is the daughter of Joel Levie and Patty Kakac.

The Ozhiitaa School Social Work Scholarship is awarded to students studying social work and who have a good standing in the School of Social Work . The scholarship covers up to four semesters of tuition, equivalent to 12 credits per semester, as well as a cost-of-living stipend of $3,000. Students in the internship phase also receive an additional $1,000 to cover expenses including professional attire and commuting costs.
To qualify for the Ozhiitaa School Social Work Scholarship, students must commit to interning and working in a Minnesota public school as a school social worker upon graduation and providing a culturally competent social work practice. The Ozhiitaa School Social Work Scholarship also includes a BIPOC priority, prioritizing people of color and/or indigenous students for scholarship considerations.
