Young cricketers honored with merit-based scholarships – indica News

The Arjun-Vohra Foundation, in partnership with Altius Strategic Consulting LLC, unveiled the 2024 youth scholarship winners at the California Cricket Academy (CCA) Annual Awards Ceremony. In its ninth year, the program recognizes exceptional young cricket talent, with an expanded focus on top-performing female players over the past three years.
Merit-based scholarships are awarded to CCA members in the U10, U12, U15, and Girls& categories. They honor players with outstanding performances throughout the year in domestic and international cricket tournaments in the US and UK.
Scholarship founders Kanika Vohra and Rajib Arjun, passionate advocates for youth cricket worldwide, presented the awards. Over the years, they have supported CCA players through sponsorships for tournaments and fellowships, furthering cricket’s growth among young athletes.
Hemant and Kinjal Buch, founders of the California Cricket Academy, expressed their gratitude, “We deeply appreciate Rajib and Kanika’s unwavering support for young boys and girls. These scholarships inspire players to push their boundaries and improve their skills. Their encouragement has significantly elevated the standards of cricket not just within CCA but across the country. We look forward to their continued support for years to come.”
Scholarship Award recipients got a citation, trophy, and a taxable cash prize:
Girls Player of the Year: $750
U10 Player of the Year: $500
U12 Player of the Year: $500
U13-15 Player of the Year: $750
U15-19 Player of the Year: $1,000
