ROCKFORD, Ill. — YWCA Northwestern Illinois is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Leader Luncheon XLVI: Women of Achievement Awards. In addition, applications are open for the Bright Future and La Voz Latina Scholarships. Recipients will be announced at the awards luncheon on March 2, 2026, at Hard Rock Casino.
Kris Machajewski, president and CEO of YWCA Northwestern Illinois, emphasized the importance of the event. “This event shines a spotlight on the remarkable individuals who are driving change in our communities every day,” Machajewski said.
Community members are encouraged to nominate individuals who excel in fields such as business, community leadership, mentorship, and racial justice. Nominees must work in Boone, Winnebago, Stephenson, or Jo Daviess counties and demonstrate a commitment to empowering women and eliminating racism.
The Bright Future Scholarship offers $1,500 to three female high school seniors who show leadership potential and reside in the YWCA service areas. The La Voz Latina Scholarship, funded by an anonymous donor, awards $1,803 to two Hispanic/Latino high school seniors in the same regions.
Nominations and scholarship applications must be submitted by January 16, 2026. For more information, visit the YWCA website or call 815-316-6126.
