WILMINGTON – Agilent’s partnership with Delaware State University continues, as the global science technology company donated $250,000 to the HBCU at its annual scholarship ball Dec. 14.
Since 2022, Agilent has donated and committed almost $9 million in financial and in-kind gifts to DSU, including full scholarships.

DSU is in its third year of a partnership that has given the school $3 million in scholarships and focused on providing STEM opportunities to underrepresented communities.
This latest donation will fund the endowment to DSU’s College of Agriculture, Science, and Technology and create “The Mike McMullen Innovation Hub,” in honor of Agilent’s previous CEO, who retired earlier this year.
This area of conference and networking facilities will serve as an open space for DSU students, entrepreneurs, and organizations to connect.
Saturday’s scholarship ball was held at Wilmington’s Chase Center and took place after we published this story, but we posted it in the past tense to avoid confusion.
According to the agenda, the event included performances by Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer Eric Roberson and renowned violinist Damien Escobar, who played his instrumental repertoire of jazz, R&B, and hip hop.
Actor and record producer DJ Jazzy Jeff lit up the dance floor at the after-party, and Ukee Washington, co-anchor of CBS 3 Eyewitness News in Philadelphia, served as the M.C.
DSU President Tony Allen will present Agilent Technologies with the University’s 2024 Corporate Partnership Award.
Allen will also present Barclays with its 2024 Community Partner Award in recognition of the financial institution’s 18-year commitment to DSU students’ success through mentorships, scholarships, and ongoing engagement.
