Six area high school students now have tuition and all college expenses at Emporia State University fully paid after an announcement by ESU on Friday.
Students receiving Jones Premier scholarships are:
*Emporia High School: Gabriela Arevalo of Emporia, nursing.
*Hartford High School: Lilah Wilkinson of Gridley, education.
*Marais Des Cygnes Valley High School: Allison Reeser of Melvern, nursing.
*Olpe High School: Jaden Nuessen of Olpe, education
*Santa Fe Trail High School: Samantha Spoonemore of Carbondale, education
*Southern Coffey County High School: Emily Ludolph of LeRoy, nursing.
ESU worked with the Jones Foundation for the Premier scholarship program, which covers full cost of attendance, including tuition, room and board, fees, books and more after all other scholarships and grants are included. Each student gaining the scholarship is also automatically enrolled in Emporia State’s Honors College.
The grant program benefits education and nursing students. Up to six high school seniors get the award, with one nursing and one education student honored from each of the three counties in the Jones Foundation service area — Lyon, Coffey and Osage.
