DAYTON — Recipients of the 2024-25 Reba Arnold Fitzgerald (RAF) Education Scholarship at Bryan College are freshman Maddison Seabolt of Murphy, N.C., sophomore Kayla Posey of Hixson, Tenn., and junior Madeline Walls of Dayton. All are elementary education majors.
The RAF scholarship began in 2022 as a legacy to honor longtime Rhea County teacher, Reba Fitzgerald. The award is given annually to an incoming freshman majoring in education. The scholarship is renewable for the entire undergraduate program to recipients who continue as education majors.
The scholarship program seeks to develop an on-campus community of four RFT scholars who support one another throughout their college years as they prepare for their teaching career.

Becky Fitzgerald Tucker recently ate lunch with the scholarship recipients and Regan Rhinehart, Education Department Chair. Tucker told the students about her mother’s years at Bryan and her appreciation for the education she received there.
“At Bryan College we strive to provide quality training for teachers, equipping future educators with a strong biblical worldview and practical skills to impact the next generation for Christ,” Rhinehart added.
