The Chesterfield Club has awarded scholarships to six Selma-Dallas County seniors.
The 98-year-old club offers scholarships yearly to students who demonstrate exceptional academic proficiency and leadership. Winners are Corbyn L. Boyd of Selma High, Tommie Tisdale III of Keith High, Micah Thomas of Southside High, George Fails III of Dallas County High, Jordin Martin of Selma High and Alexis Perry of Selma High.
From the Chesterfield Club press release:
Corbyn Boyd, a shining example of academic excellence and leadership, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Marc Boyd of Selma. He graduated from Selma High School in 2024 and was awarded the prestigious Chesterfield Club Legacy Scholarship. His future includes attending Alabama A&M University to pursue a degree in Biology, a testament to his passion for the subject.
Tommie Tisdale, III, is a 2024 graduate of Keith High School. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. TommieTisdale, Jr., of Selma. He plans to attend Brewton-Parker College in Mount Vernon, GA, majoring in Computer Science.
Micah Thomas is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Micah L. Thomas of Selma. He will graduate from SouthsideHigh School in 2024 and plans to attend the University of Alabama and major in Criminal Justice.
George Fails, III, is a 2024 Dallas County High School graduate. He is the son of Ms. Shawanda Fails of Selma. He plans to attend Alabama A&M University and major in Computer Science.
Jordin Martin, daughter of Ms. Wanda Martin of Thomaston, will graduate from Selma High School in 2024. Sheplans to attend the University of Alabama and major in Nursing.
Alexis Perry will graduate from Selma High School in 2024. She is the daughter of Mr. Dauntae Kingand Ms. Kirsten Perry of Selma. She plans to attend the University of Alabama and major inCommunication Media.
The Chesterfield Club Scholarship committee members are led by Dr. Leroy Maxwell and Rev. Lebarron Mack. Other members of the committee include Dr. William Powell, Atty. Warren Young, Paul Oliver, AlPerry, Dexter Bright, and Michael Walker. Eric Roussell, our Club President, leads this exceptional group of men.
