The Voice of Indiana County
An emeritus member of the IUP Food and Nutrition Department has established a scholarship for students studying in the department.
Dr. Rita Johnson has donated $75,000 to the university to establish the Rita M. Johnson Legacy Scholarship, which will provide support to students enrolled full-time pursuing a degree in the department. A longtime resident of Indiana, Johnson retired from IUP in 2019 after 36 years of teaching. She now makes her home in Texas and said that she made the decision to make the donation a long time ago.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate and graduate students. Johnson said she hopes that this assistance can help current students help future students.
