The Fortuna Garden Club is offering two $2,000 scholarships to seniors in the Fortuna Union High School District, which includes Fortuna High, East High, Independent Study and Academy of the Redwoods.
Students must be planning to attend either a community college or a four-year university with intentions of majoring in a program related to agriculture, landscaping, botany, viticulture, horticulture or related fields.
Students must have a 3.0 GPA or better. An official transcript and two letters of recommendation are also required.
Applications are available from the counselors or agriculture teachers at the school. The postmark deadline is April 18. Completed applications can be mailed to Fortuna Garden Club, PO Box 212, Fortuna, CA 95540 or may be dropped off to the school counselors.
