HOUSTON — The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo‘s 2025 educational commitment has surpassed $28 million, which they say is the most committed in its 93 years.
Since 1932, HLSR said it’s pledged more than $632 million toward student success.
The commitment is broken down between scholarships, awards for junior show exhibitors, educational program grants, and graduate assistantships.
“As one of the core missions of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, being able to support Texas youth and education is one of our most prized achievements,” said Chris Boleman, Rodeo president and CEO.
Boleman said the rodeo is only able to do what it does thanks to its more than 35,000 volunteers, donors, partners, sponsors and the Houston community.
Here’s how the commitment is broken down by the dollar:
HLSR said it awarded more than 800 scholarships through its programs in 2024. Applications for this season’s scholarships will be open from December 16 through January 31. Click here to find eligibility requirements or to apply once they’re open.
Recipients will be notified in May and there will be a celebration in July.
