Two Mount Airy High School senior tennis players experienced a first this year — being named the inaugural winners of the Dr. John L. Gravitte Award and Scholarship.
Dr. Gravitte, a local dentist, created the award and scholarship for men’s and ladies tennis players at his alma mater. The inaugural award and scholarship recipients are Ella Brant, from the ladies tennis team, and Connor Sechrist for the men’s tennis team. The two were announced as winners during the end of year award ceremony at Mount Airy High School.
