The McGregor Lions sponsored the athletic/academic banquet at the McGregor School May 13.  The guest speaker was Justin DeMenge, a 1992 graduate from McGregor High School and currently a captain for Southwest Airlines.  He spoke about his goal to become an airline pilot and the obstacles and disappointments he faced along the way.  He also said he felt very lucky to be a graduate of McGregor High School, where he knew all his classmates.  He said he can’t wait until he can come back to his “roots.”  Scholarships were then handed out. The Lions handed out $15,000 in scholarships.  Pictured from left, Matt Bailey, Max Sampson, Courtney Gauther, Will Arnold and Ava Guida.  Over $140,000 in scholarships were handed out that evening.
