OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) – Eight Nebraska university students are receiving a share of $24,500 in scholarships from the Nebraska Broadcasters Association Foundation.
The scholarships, selected by a panel of Nebraska Broadcasters board members, are awarded annually to students attending Nebraska universities who intend to work in the field of broadcasting after they earn their degrees.
“The Nebraska Broadcasters Association Foundation is so proud to have these students aspire to be broadcasters,” NBA board chairperson Jessie Johnson said in a release this week. “We strive to inspire future generations to pursue broadcasting, knowing their passion will empower their careers in this great industry and the dreamers who follow them.”
The scholarships are awarded in amounts of $5,000, $3,500, and $2,500.
“The number of scholarships and total dollar amount awarded each year is at the discretion of the NBA board of directors based on application quality and quantity,” according to the release.
