This spring, Dr. Dawn Entzminger, owner of Dr. Dawn’s Pet Stop, is offering a new scholarship through Jamestown Dollars for Scholars that will be awarded to a graduating Jamestown High School or a Jamestown Blue Jay Academy, formerly Jamestown North, senior.
The $1,000 Dr. Dawn’s Pet Stop Scholarship will be awarded to a student planning to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. Preference will be given to students who have interned at Dr. Dawn’s Pet Stop.

“By investing in the youth of today, we help build a more vibrant and hopeful future for everyone,” Entzminger said. “Supporting students now gives them the tools to achieve their aspirations and contribute positively to the community for years to come.”
Entzminger provides comprehensive veterinary care for cats, dogs and pocket pets at her full-service small animal hospital. Services offered include wellness exams, dental care, lab diagnostics, laser therapy, surgery and cremation. The clinic’s staff is dedicated to making every pet’s visit as comfortable and stress free as possible.
Having practiced veterinary medicine since 1998, Entzminger is passionate about animal care and community service. The scholarship is part of her ongoing commitment to supporting local students and encouraging them to pursue careers in the veterinary field.
Board member Sally Ost accepted the donation on behalf of Jamestown Dollars for Scholars.
“Dr. Dawn Entzminger has consistently shown a strong commitment to giving back to the community, and this scholarship is a true embodiment of that effort,” Ost said. “It offers a deserving student the financial assistance necessary to follow their passion for veterinary medicine and achieve their career goals.”
Dollars for Scholars is a nonprofit volunteer organization that provides local graduating seniors with financial assistance to help them pursue higher education. This spring Jamestown Dollars for Scholars distributed more than $53,500 in scholarships to 51 area students.
