District Home
Each year, the School District hires approximately 1,800 highly-qualified new teachers. The Palm Beach Future Educators (PBFE) Scholarship program, assists the District to “Grow Its Own” teachers.
Qualified School District of Palm Beach County high school seniors, non-instructional employees, and temporary employees who want to become teachers can apply and compete for the scholarship. The scholarship provides $1,000 each fall and spring semester for up to five years. As a condition of accepting the scholarship, recipients agree to return to Palm Beach County School District to teach upon college graduation.
Application window: February 1 through the last Monday in March
High School Seniors
Must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher; score 970 or higher on the SAT and 20 or higher on the ACT; complete an essay; provide transcripts and participate in an interview.

Non-Instructional Employees
Must have worked for the District for at least two consecutive years and received good evaluations, provide references, transcripts, complete an essay, and an interview.

Must have worked for the District for at least 100 days each year for the last two years, provide references, transcripts, complete an essay, and an interview.

PBFE is solely funded by District employees. One hundred percent of the tax-deductible donation goes to fund the PBFE scholarships and “Grow Our Own” initiatives. The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County is the fiscal agent. PBFE contributions make a lasting difference, as “teachers touch the future.”
