Passing it forward: Frontier Alumni Association issuing 2024 scholarships – Marietta Times

For the 13th year in a row the Frontier Alumni Association 1969-1990 has issued 2 seniors a scholarship. This year the scholarship amount increased from $500 a year to $1000. a year. Jeff Beaver, president of the association awarded the scholarships at the recent 20th annual Frontier High School senior awards program. The program was held in the Frontier High School cafetorium on May 19. This year congratulations go to recipients Morgan Haught and Maquelah Walker. Thank you to all the seniors that applied for our scholarships.
Haught is the daughter of Curtis and Kylee Haught of Newport, Ohio and Darcy and Clint Grimes of St. Marys.
She applied to and was accepted by West Virginia University at Parkersburg. She will attend their elementary education program – special education and math. Her goal is to receive a bachelor degree in education. Her dream is to become a teacher.
Her ultimate goal is to become a kindergarten teacher. .
Walker is the daughter of Bryon Sunderman of Newport, Ohio and Stephanie Sellers of Parkersburg.

She applied to and was accepted by the Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio. She will attend their nursing program. Her goal is to receive a bachelors of science and nursing. Her dream is to become a travel nurse.
Her ultimate goal is to travel the world while being a nurse.
