Scholarship opens for high school seniors pursuing animal-related career – WFFT FOX 55 Fort Wayne | Indiana News & Weather

NORTHEAST INDIANA (WFFT) — A scholarship opportunity has opened for college-bound high school seniors seeking an animal-related career.
The Fort Wayne Zoological Society is accepting applications for the Lawrence A. Ackerman Scholarship until Feb. 1.
One recipient will be presented with a $2,000 award to use toward their higher education schooling.
High school seniors graduating from Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties are eligible to apply.
The scholarship will consider each applicant’s character, commitment to animal care, financial need and academic achievement.
The Lawrence A. Ackerman Scholarship began in 1992 and honors the late Dr. Larry Ackerman, who was the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo’s veterinarian for 25 years.
