RACINE — The SC Johnson Community Aquatic Center has a new scholarship program that provides discounts on various pass options to eligible residents.
Racine County received a $5,000 donation from SC Johnson for the program, which began May 1.
The funding will provide a 50% discount on five-day passes, 10-day passes and seasonal membership passes. Attendees of a Water Safety Swim session will receive a 75% discount, according to the county.
According to Racine County’s website, regularly-priced season passes are $25 for youth between 3-17 years of age; $65 for adults; $55 for seniors 62 years of age and older; and $110 for families of four (maximum of two adults).
Regularly-priced single-day passes are $5 for youth, $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $25 for families of four, according to the county.
The scholarships are available to families and individuals who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals. To confirm eligibility, Racine Unified School District families should email food.service@rusd.org; for other schools, families should contact their schools’ offices.
Applicants must provide proof of eligibility, proof of address and a photo ID. More information is available at www.RacineCounty.com/SCJAquatic.

Racine County Executive Jonathan Delagrave said the new scholarship program represents a significant step forward in making aquatic recreation accessible and available for all county residents.
“Our program is not only promoting physical wellness but also fostering community connections and lifelong memories for families and individuals,” Delagrave said. “This initiative underscores our commitment to recreational opportunities and enhancing the quality of life in our community.”
The aquatic center’s opening weekend this season is May 25-27. It is located at Pritchard Park, 2800 Ohio St.
