Penn State University Libraries offers a variety of scholarship awards annually to Penn State undergraduates. Some are for those considering pursuing a master’s degree in library science, library information science or librarianship, while others target students studying liberal arts, hospitality management and STEM fields.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Undergraduate students who access Penn State University Libraries’ resources or services and with financial need are encouraged to apply for 2025-26 academic year University Libraries scholarships.
The University Libraries offers a variety of awards annually to Penn State undergraduates. Some are for those considering pursuing a master’s degree in library science, library information science or librarianship. One scholarship is available for a Media Technology and Support Services student employee or the child of a Media Tech employee.

These scholarships are intended to help with current school costs, and awards start at $500 and range up to $3,000. A student who completes a scholarship application will be considered for all available scholarships, as appropriate.
Students who have never thought about a career in libraries may not be aware of the wide range of career paths that exist in this field, in the academic, business or public realm. Library professionals work in teaching and research and have access to the latest technology in the field of information access and delivery. The deadline to submit 2025-26 scholarship applications is Friday, May 3.
