Seven local students receive scholarships from Hayden Catholic High School Foundation – WIBW


TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Seven local students received a scholarships from Hayden Catholic High School Foundation.
The Hayden Catholic High School Foundation announced on Saturday, Aug. 3 the recipients of the Walter J. and Geraldine N. Michaelis post-secondary scholarships.
The Hayden Foundation said these scholarships are aimed to support Topeka Catholic Parish students who are seeking a collegiate or technical school level education. The scholarships have been awarded to students who demonstrate strong academic achievement, financial need and a commitment to their Catholic faith.
After a rigorous selection process, the Hayden Catholic High School Foundation awarded the scholarship to the following students:
The total amount awarded to the seven recipients for the 2024-2025 school year is $54,650 and is renewable for four years which totals to $218,600.
The Hayden Foundation said these students were selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants. The selection committee reviewed all applications and chose recipients based on the stipulations as set forth by the donor agreement originated by Walter and Geraldine Michaelis. The scholarship funds will help alleviate the financial burden of college/trade school and allow these students to focus on their academic and personal goals. The Hayden Catholic High School Foundation congratulates these deserving scholarship recipients and wishes them continued success in their academic and professional endeavors.
