St. Pius X grads eligible for scholarships to Missouri Baptist University – Leader Publications

St. Pius X High School officials have announced that students who graduate this spring will be offered a $23,300 scholarship each year for four years to attend Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis County.
The agreement makes St. Pius, at 1030 St. Pius Drive in Crystal City, an MBU Preferred Partner School.
“This is a first-time agreement for us,” St. Pius President Jim Lehn said. “We are the first school in Jefferson County with this agreement with Missouri Baptist. The faith-based education we have aligns with their school.”
He said Missouri Baptist funds the scholarships.
Beginning with the St. Pius class of 2025, any of those graduates who enroll as freshmen at Missouri Baptist will automatically receive the university’s highest merit award of $17,300, along with an additional $6,000 grant, for a total annual scholarship of $23,300 under the MBU Preferred Partner School Scholarship Program.
Those St. Pius graduates who pursue the scholarship and attend Missouri Baptist for four years would receive a total of $93,200 toward their college education.
“We are excited for our students to be awarded such a generous scholarship from Missouri Baptist University,” said Ken Halter, a St. Pius college counselor. “This relationship demonstrates the strength of our academic programs and the high caliber of graduates we produce. It also reflects the commitment of (Missouri Baptist) to supporting students from faith-based institutions, making a high-quality, Christ-centered education more affordable.”
Tuition for those pursuing undergraduate degrees at Missouri Baptist is about $33,000 per year for the 2024-2025 school year, according to the Missouri Baptist website.
Lehn said he is aware of several students who said they will pursue the scholarship. He said it is a simple process to apply.
“They must be a St. Pius graduate and complete the application for Missouri Baptist,” he said. “There is no special application for the scholarship. The important thing is that their transcripts come from St. Pius.”
St. Pius has a total enrollment of 305 students for the 2024-2025 school year, including 72 who are members of the class of 2025.
