U of A students from Jonesboro awarded scholarships from Fulbright College – Jonesboro Right Now


Fayetteville, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 25, 2024 – Students from Jonesboro were awarded scholarships this fall from the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas.

More than $4.9 million in scholarships was awarded through 1,855 scholarships to students in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas this year. These scholarships are made possible by the support of donors, who include alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Fulbright College, and aid students across the college’s four academic disciplines: arts, humanities, natural sciences and social sciences.
“Fulbright College is committed to supporting our students in every way possible and in all aspects of their college experience,” said Brian E. Raines, dean of Fulbright College. “We are grateful for the generosity of the college’s friends and supporters, whose contributions empower us to provide the tools and resources our students need to thrive.”
The following students received scholarships:

This fall’s scholarships are made possible from the support of donors, who include alumni, faculty, staff and friends of Fulbright College, and aid students as part of the commitment to student success.
“Supporting our students requires a comprehensive approach in all aspects of their college experience,” Raines said. “Our work to do this would not be possible without the generosity of our Fulbright College friends and supporters. Thanks to their contributions, we’re able to provide the tools and resources our students need to succeed.”

Arkansas State University alumnus and Lynn, Ark., native Dr. J.B. Penn has made a gift of more than $450,000 to support the innovative trading program jointly developed by the College of Agriculture and the Neil Griffin College of Business at A-State.
Belmont University recently released the Dean’s List for the fall 2024 semester, and students from Jonesboro were on the list.
The second class of the Arkansas Delta Women’s Leadership Academy is comprised of 25 women from across the Delta. The program, sponsored by Arkansas State University, hosted its first class this year with the purpose of increasing the knowledge, leadership skills, and capability of each of the participants.
Be Pro Be Proud, a workforce development initiative led by the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce/Associated Industries of Arkansas, has announced dates and locations for the upcoming 2025 Draft Day Series, with a stop at Nettleton coming in February.
