Research Fellow (Qualitative Research) – Born in Bradford

Born in Bradford (BiB) is expanding its research team and is now recruiting two qualitative Research Fellows to contribute to an exciting range of innovative, community-focused studies that aim to improve health and wellbeing across Bradford and beyond.

Band: 6
Contract: Fixed-term, 18 months
Hours: 37.5 per week (minimum 30)
Location: Bradford Institute for Health Research, Bradford Royal Infirmary
Working Pattern: Hybrid – minimum 60% office-based
Closing Date: 5 January 2026

About the Role

The Research Fellows will work across multiple BiB projects, including:

  • Healthy Urban Places

  • Age of Wonder: Teenage Stories

You will lead and support qualitative components such as:
 Research planning and design
 Data collection (interviews, focus groups, ethnography)
 Thematic and in-depth qualitative analysis
Writing reports, publications, and dissemination materials

This role also involves contributing to the Bradford Centre for Qualitative Research (BCQR)—a growing hub dedicated to strengthening qualitative research capacity across BiB. Responsibilities include helping with training, capacity building, coordination, networking, and supporting community-driven qualitative research.
