The Center for International Development (CID) at Harvard Kennedy School invites PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to join its Visiting Researcher Program. Fellows will pursue independent research on economic development or education while engaging with CID’s vibrant research community.

As a fellow, you will:

  • Attend seminars, workshops, and CID community events

  • Network with Harvard faculty, postdocs, and visiting researchers

  • Exchange ideas, collaborate, and receive mentorship from CID faculty affiliates

  • Application Deadline: Rolling, until January 31, 2026

  • Location: Cambridge, MA, USA

  • Fellowship Duration: Up to 9 months (starting September 2026)
  • Funding: Up to $20,000 stipend (additional funding recommended)

Who Should Apply

  • PhD students who have completed coursework or postdoctoral researchers

  • Applicants must come from a PhD institution in a UniCredit Foundation country: Austria, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, or Slovenia

  • Research should focus on development economics and/or education anywhere in the world
