Both Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington and Caddo Sheriff Henry Whitehorn Sr. are seeking applicants for $1,000 college scholarships to be given to current high school seniors.
Offered through the Louisiana Sheriff’s Honorary Membership Program, the scholarships will be awarded in May, and the application deadline is April 1. There will be one winner in Caddo and one in Bossier.
Interested applicants should be a permanent resident of Louisiana planning to attend an accredited institution of higher education in the state as a full-time undergraduate student.
To compete for a scholarship, applicants should submit an application to the sheriff’s office of the parish of residence. More information is available and printable applications can found at the Louisiana Sheriff’s Association website.
