Are you an undergraduate student eager to gain hands-on experience in biomedical sciences, public health, behavioral health, or STEM research

The Seattle Children’s Research Institute Summer Scholars Program 2026 is now accepting applications. This prestigious nine-week immersive internship offers students the chance to work alongside experienced researchers, engage in authentic projects, and build a strong foundation for future careers in medicine, science, and public health.

Why Apply to the Summer Scholars Program?

The Summer Scholars Program is designed to empower undergraduate students by providing:

  • Hands-on mentored research: Scholars become integral members of Seattle Children’s research teams, working closely with mentors whose expertise aligns with their interests.
  • Exposure to diverse research areas: Opportunities include basic, clinical, community-based, and translational research projects.
  • Professional development: Biweekly workshops help students strengthen research knowledge, explore career pathways, and learn about responsible and ethical conduct of research.
  • Networking opportunities: Build connections with peers, mentors, and professionals in the biomedical and public health fields.
  • Publication and presentation experience: Scholars publish an abstract of their research and present at a poster symposium in the program’s final week.

This program is ideal for students considering graduate studies in biomedical sciences or careers in medicine, public health, or related STEM fields.
