Fondation Botnar is recruiting a Junior Project Manager – Communications to support its digital communications work, with a particular focus on coordinating a major website redesign project. This role is well suited for early-career professionals who are organised, proactive, and interested in digital communication, project coordination, and working in a mission-driven organisation.
The position is based in Basel and reports to the Engagement and Communications Lead.

Key responsibilities
The Junior Project Manager – Communications will:
- Coordinate procurement and project management for the website redesign, including discovery, planning, status tracking, and documentation
- Organise and facilitate internal working groups, stakeholder alignment sessions, and progress updates
- Support and coordinate the website launch process, including testing, content upload, operational readiness, and transition to maintenance
- Contribute to internal guidance, onboarding materials, and basic training related to the website
- Support monitoring, measurement, and analytics across the website and other digital channels
- Execute digital communications activities, including content development, community management, and system and tool maintenance, as needed
- Assist in the planning and operational delivery of communications-related events or campaigns
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in visual and/or digital communications, or demonstrated equivalent experience
- Experience in project coordination or support roles (through work or internships is an advantage)
- Strong organisational, coordination, and time-management skills
- Experience using CMS platforms (such as WordPress or Drupal), social media tools, and analytics dashboards
- Familiarity with UX/UI, SEO, and web accessibility requirements is an asset
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English (German and/or French is an advantage)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation
- Ability to work collaboratively and engage with external suppliers
