The deadline for the Gainesville Chicken Festival Scholarship is today, Monday, March 3. 
The city of Gainesville, Georgia, announced that the application process for the 2025 Gainesville Chicken Festival Scholarship opened earlier this year. High school seniors, GED recipients and current college students pursuing careers in the poultry industry have been encouraged to apply before the March 3 deadline.
The Gainesville Chicken Festival Scholarship supports students pursuing degrees in poultry science or related agricultural fields, reinforcing the city’s legacy as “Poultry Capital of the World.” The scholarship, funded by sponsors of the annual Gainesville Chicken Festival, provides up to $2,000 to help students further their education.
Eligibility Requirements
The scholarship is available to:

  • Graduating high school seniors planning to attend an accredited college or university as full-time students.
  • GED recipients.
  • Current full-time college students majoring in fields such as Agricultural Business, Poultry Science, Food Science, Animal Science, Food Marketing, and Agricultural Economics.

Applicants must be Georgia residents with a minimum GPA of 3.0.

How to Apply


The scholarship is administered by the North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF). To apply, students should visit the NGCF website, create an account, and complete the common scholarship application. If eligible, the Gainesville Chicken Festival Scholarship will be included in the list of available opportunities.
Applicants must complete a separate addendum, which includes an essay question: “What are your career goals and reasons for pursuing the poultry field?” All applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Monday, March 3.
