Education Advocacy Fellow: A Strategic Global Opportunity with the International Education Funders Group (IEFG)

The Education Advocacy Fellow position at the International Education Funders Group (IEFG) is a unique nine-month fellowship designed for emerging professionals passionate about global education, advocacy and systems change. Starting in February 2026, this opportunity invites talented individuals to contribute to large-scale education advocacy and support the world’s leading network of education funders.

The fellowship sits at the intersection of philanthropy, global development and education policy, aiming to accelerate progress as the world approaches the 2030 SDG education deadline. While IEFG brings together more than 100 member organisations, this fellowship is intentionally crafted to welcome new perspectives, even from candidates without previous philanthropy experience.

What Is the Education Advocacy Fellow Role?

The Education Advocacy Fellow will support IEFG in transforming fragmented “fill-anthropy” into coordinated, strategic advocacy capable of influencing global education financing and policy. Working part-time and remotely, the Fellow will help strengthen IEFG’s collective voice across major international policy spaces.

As the world’s largest network of education funders, IEFG is uniquely positioned to shape the future of global education. This fellowship provides the platform, mentorship and resources needed to contribute meaningfully to this mission.


Key Responsibilities of the Education Advocacy Fellow

The selected candidate will:

  • Support the development of a coordinated systems change strategy for IEFG’s network.

  • Contribute to evidence generation demonstrating the impact of education investments

  • Coordinate IEFG’s presence at major global events such as UNGA and the Education World Forum

  • Collaborate with senior advocacy leaders and sector partners

  • Strengthen communication, research and global engagement efforts across the network


Fellowship Benefits

The Education Advocacy Fellow opportunity offers a combination of strategic experience, visibility and mentorship, including:

  • Compensation: £30,000 pro rata
