The European Charlemagne Youth Prize, jointly awarded by the European Parliament and the International Charlemagne Prize Foundation in Aachen, celebrates the outstanding efforts of young people driving change with a strong EU focus. Since its inception in 2008, the prize has seen over 5,350 projects vying for recognition, highlighting the depth of youth engagement and innovation across Europe.
Applications for the 2024 edition are currently open, welcoming submissions until midnight on February 12th. This prestigious award presents an opportunity for young visionaries to showcase their initiatives and gain recognition on a European stage.
What’s at stake? Three winning projects will emerge from the pool of 27 nominees selected by national juries in each EU country. The first prize winner will receive €7,500, the second prize €5,000, and the third prize €2,500. Beyond the financial rewards, winners will have the chance to attend the award ceremony on May 7th, 2024, in Aachen, Germany, alongside representatives from all 27 national winning projects.
To be eligible for consideration, projects must align with the following criteria:
