Humboldt Research Fellowship in Germany

The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation offers up to 500 Humboldt Research Fellowships for experienced researchers to engage in a long-term research project (lasting 6-18 months) at a research institution in Germany. Scholars and scientists from around the world, across various disciplines, who have obtained their doctorate within the past 12 years are encouraged to apply.

This fellowship provides flexibility and can be divided into up to three separate stays within a span of three years. Its primary objective is to facilitate visits by highly qualified foreign professors to Germany for research purposes. The foundation aims to foster international academic collaboration between scholars and scientists from Germany and abroad.

Funding and Financial Coverage

The fellowship covers the following:

  • Full tuition fees.
  • Full accommodation expenses.
  • Monthly stipend of 2,650 EUR for postdoctoral researchers and 3,150 EUR for experienced researchers.
