EUGENE, Ore. — Lane Community College is making it easier for former students to return and continue their education with the Spring Back Scholarship, offering a $500 award to eligible students who have been away from Lane for a term or longer, the college reports.
To qualify, students must reapply to Lane if they have been away for more than five terms, meet with an advisor to create a course plan, register for spring 2025 classes, and remain enrolled past the drop-with-refund date. If a student has a registration hold due to an unpaid bill, they can notify the Bursar’s Office that they are applying for the scholarship. The final step is submitting the scholarship application by March 23, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Students must be signed into their Lane student account to complete the form.
Funds are available for the first 120 qualified applicants. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and students who have already received funding from the LCC Foundation may not be eligible.
“We want to welcome students back to Lane and help them move forward with their educational goals,” said Dawn Whiting, Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Services. “The Spring Back Scholarship is designed to remove some of the financial barriers that may have prevented students from returning.”
