Washington Crossing Foundation announced the 2024 winners of its scholarship for high school seniors planning careers in government service. The Foundation awarded $84,000 in national scholarships this year bringing the total amount to more than 2 million dollars.
Robert Penzone III of Lawrenceville is a senior at Enlightium Academy and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Penzone Jr. Robert received the David Fisher Scholarship and will attend Liberty University.

Scholarships were established in 1970 and continue in honor of the late Ann Hawkes Hutton, founding chairman of the Washington Crossing Foundation. The scholarships are awarded annually to patriotic high school seniors dedicated to serving their school, their community and their country. This quality of service is exemplified by General Washington and his men in their heroic Crossing of the Delaware on Christmas night 1776.
Awards were presented by previous scholarship winners Steven Jackson, Esq., Fla., Gerald Papazian, Esq., CA and Gerald Shepherd, Esq., NY, all Foundation Trustees. The ceremony and luncheon honoring the winners was held at the Washington Crossing Inn, Washington Crossing.
There were many returning scholars in attendance. Veterans who attended were honored and a special cake was cut by George Washington, aka John Godzieba, Chief of Police, Langhorne.
