Mundus Journalism has secured new Erasmus Mundus funding for the next five years, marking an exciting new chapter for one of the world’s leading international journalism master’s programmes. With resilience at the core, the programme will offer 10–15 Erasmus Mundus scholarships per intake, supporting talented students from around the world.

Based across Aarhus, Amsterdam, London, Munich, and Prague, Mundus Journalism delivers a truly global classroom experience—combining academic excellence, international mobility, and strong professional networks.

  • Programme start: 1 September
  • Study period: 2026–2028 (2 years)

About the Programme

Founded in 2005, Mundus Journalism is a two-year international master’s degree that develops a critical, analytical understanding of journalism, media, and globalisation. The programme is academically grounded in journalism studies and media research, while also offering applied journalistic components.

Students study at top European universities in at least two countries, gaining exposure to different academic traditions, media systems, and cultural perspectives.


Specialisations & Study Tracks

Students can tailor their academic profile through four specialisations:

  • Authoritarianism & Transition (more hands-on journalism focus)
  • Crisis & Conflict (more hands-on journalism focus)
  • Politics & Communication (theory- and research-oriented)
  • Cultures & Contexts (theory- and research-oriented)
