Eligibility

To be eligible for the Tongarewa Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be international students paying full international fees
• Be entering their first year of an undergraduate degree or entering a postgraduate degree program

Please note that certain conditions may render applicants ineligible, such as completing secondary education at a New Zealand school or participating in specific programs like the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) or Foundation Studies Programme.

Application Process:

To apply for the Tongarewa Scholarship, candidates must submit a completed online application by 4:30 pm on the specified closing date. (Closing date(s): 30 November; 1 June; 1 September) Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. Additionally, applicants must ensure all required supporting documentation, including references, is received by the deadline.

• Tongarewa Scholarships are for partial fees and will be credited to tuition fees after the final withdrawal date for the trimester.
• Recipients are expected to act as ambassadors for Victoria University of Wellington and may be requested to participate in relevant events or marketing initiatives.
