New Zealand Scholarships

INTRODUCTION

The Applicants are warmly welcome to apply for the New Zealand Scholarships 2023The New Zealand Scholarships for International Students are open to undertaking a Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. Degree Programs. There is no application fee to apply for New Zealand University Scholarships. New Zealand is an emerging destination for intrested international student to study Abroad.

ELIGIBILITY

Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships are available to citizens from eligible countries. If your country is not on the list, then the New Zealand Government does not offer any academic scholarships to you.

Pacific Countries:

Citizens from eligible countries in the Pacific have two full scholarship options. Eligible scholars can choose to study in New Zealand or at a Pacific university

Option 1: Scholarships to study in New Zealand

Eligible Pacific countries:

Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji (postgraduate only), Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu

Note: Cook Island scholars have their own scholarship managed by the Cook Islands Ministry of Education and funded by the New Zealand Government

Note: Tokelau scholars are currently only eligible to apply for Short Term Training Scholarships

Levels of study available:

  • Undergraduate Degree (3-4 years)
  • Postgraduate Certificate (6 months)
  • Postgraduate Diploma (1 year)
  • Master’s Degree (1-2 years)
  • PhD (3.5 years)

Expected start dates:

We aim for Pacific scholars selected in 2023 to enter New Zealand to commence study from Semester 1, 2024.

Option 2: Scholarships to study at a Pacific university

Eligible Pacific countries:

Kiribati, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu.

Levels of study available:

You can study these qualifications at one of four universities in Fiji, Papua New Guinea or Vanuatu:

  • Undergraduate Degree (3-4 years)
  • Postgraduate Certificate (6 months)
  • Postgraduate Diploma (1 year)
  • Master’s Degree (1-2 years)
  • PhD (3.5 years)

Expected start dates:

We aim for Pacific scholars selected in 2023 to enter their Pacific study country to commence study from Semester 1, 2024.

We only accept applications from citizens from eligible countries

African Countries – Algeria, Angola, Botswana, Djibouti, Eswatini, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe

Caribbean Countries:- Belize, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, St Lucia, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname.

Latin America: – Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Venezuela

HOW TO APPLY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP

  1. The scholarship application process differs depending on which country or region you are from.
  2. The 2023 tertiary Manaaki New Zealand Scholarships application portal will open midnight 1 February 2024 and close midday 28 February 2024 for all eligible countries and regions.
