Qatar University Arabic for Non Native Speaker Scholarship

INTRODUCTION

The Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Center – Languages, Communication, and Translation Cluster, College of Arts and Sciences– is a specialized language center that offers certificates of completion to international students whose mother tongue is not Arabic.
Every year the center offers six language levels from Beginners I up to Advanced II. Applicants can be enrolled as full-fee paying students or nominees from educational or cultural institutions that have signed agreements with Qatar University.

ELIGIBILTY

  1. Upload the following documents through the online application
    1. Attested copy of the highest attained academic credentials, (Final transcript or course completion certificate with following criteria)
      • The academic credentials must be for the highest attained academic degree, transcript or certificate that you already graduated.Transcript of current ongoing degree is not acceptableThe certificate or transcript must be accompanied by Arabic or English translation if it is not in one of the two languages.
    Transcript or certificate attestation requirements:
    • No further attestations are required if the transcripts or certificates are issued from USA and UK universities as it should be final, official and enclosed in a sealed envelope by the registrar’s office. Meanwhile, the high school certificates or transcripts should meet the attestation requirements mentioned below.
    Transcripts or certificates issued from High schools from around the world  OR Universities from out of USA and UK should meet the attestation requirements mentioned below:
    • Must be certified by either the Ministry of Education and Higher Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Qatar Embassy (or any GCC Embassy if Qatar Embassy is not available) for the country in which the certificate is issued.If attestation from Qatar or GCC Embassies are not available, the same can be from any Arab country’s Embassy for the country in which the certificate is issued.Residents / Expatriates in Qatar can certify their transcripts through their countries’ embassy available in Qatar.  An Arabic or English translation must accompany the transcript if it is issued in a language other than Arabic or English.
    Note: Qatar University has the right to ask for extra attestations if needed. 
    1. Resume / C.V. (Curriculum Vitae) should include the applicant’s personal and academic details with contact details, mobile number with country code and email address.Passport copy, valid for 1 year, need a copy of the page/s that holds the following information: your photo and information, and the passport expiry date.Recommendation Letter from a well-known person or organization, (such as your professor, religious or educational institution) describing the reason for nominating you to study in Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Center. It should be issued recently within one month prior to applying to this program. Self-nomination letters are not acceptable.Personal Photo (1 copy), passport size.

SCHOLARSHIPS

This scholarship includes:

  1. Entry visa and residence permit fees under Qatar University sponsorship.
  2. Tuition fees and textbooks.
  3. Round-trip air ticket.
  4. Financial Aid of 500 Qatari Riyals on a Monthly basis.
  5. Accommodation at the University dorms which includes 3 meals a day, laundry machines, wireless
    Internet service, games hall, library, computer lab, Gym facilities, transportation to and from the
    Campus and etc

HOW TO APPLY

All applicants to the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Center are required to submit online admission application

  • Start creating your account with a username and password. Keep the username and password for future use
  • Upload required documents through the Admissions Login (qu.edu.qa) before the admission deadline.
  • Submit QR 50/-, ANNS admission application fee as part of your online admission application.
