The Southern African Development Community (SADC), in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the Sustainable Finance Coalition (SFC), invites applications for the Resource Mobilisation Capacity Building and Coaching Programme. This initiative is part of the Joint Action NaturAfrica / Climate Resilience and Natural Resource Management (C-NRM) Programme and aims to strengthen the financial sustainability, institutional readiness, and partnership-building capacities of organisations working in Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) across the Southern African region.

Background

TFCAs are vital for regional cooperation and biodiversity conservation in Southern Africa. However, many stakeholders in these areas face challenges in accessing sustainable funding to support their activities. In response, the SADC Food, Agriculture and Natural Resources (FANR) Directorate, with support from the European Union (EU) and the German Government, is launching a structured Resource Mobilisation Capacity Building and Coaching Program. This program aims to equip practitioners, NGOs, and CBOs in TFCAs with the knowledge and tools needed to successfully mobilise resources and build effective partnerships.

Purpose of the Programme

The program aims to strengthen the capacity of TFCA practitioners, NGOs, and CBOs by providing practical skills in:

  1. Identifying and pursuing relevant funding opportunities.
  2. Developing competitive, bankable project proposals.
  3. Strengthening internal governance and financial management systems.
  4. Building and participating in effective partnerships for joint fundraising efforts.
