Who Can Apply?
- Eligibility: Students enrolled in higher education courses (with at least one year of study in a related field such as urban development, architecture, geography, environmental engineering, etc.). Recent graduates and PhD candidates are also eligible.
- Preferred Background: While a background in planning, architecture, or design is useful, it is not mandatory. The summer school is open to individuals from diverse disciplines, including urban planners, architects, designers, engineers, sociologists, historians, and others with a keen interest in urbanism.
- Selection Criteria: A compelling motivation letter and a 3-minute self-introduction video. The program is looking for passionate, engaged, and entrepreneurial individuals who aim to bring fresh ideas back to their communities.
How to Apply
The application process is competitive, with only 100 places available. You will need to:
- Submit a Motivation Letter (800 words): Explain why you want to participate, how the program aligns with your personal, academic, and professional goals, and what makes you unique.
- Create a 3-Minute Introduction Video: Tell the selection committee about yourself, your studies, and the challenges you see in your city.
- Provide Proof of Enrollment: If selected, provide documentation confirming your higher education status.
Program Costs & Scholarships
- Fee: €600
- This fee covers all activities, including social events, meals, materials, and site visits. However, participants are responsible for their own accommodation and travel costs.
- TU Delft provides guidance on accommodation options, but finding a place to stay is the participant’s responsibility.
