About the Global Data Office

Led by Visa’s Chief Data Officer, the Global Data Office (GDO) drives company-wide initiatives in data strategy, critical investments, policy development, and responsible data and AI use. Working closely with the Chief Privacy Officer, Technology teams, and business leaders across Visa, the GDO is committed to the trusted, ethical, and compliant use of data and AI.

Within the GDO, the Data & AI Governance (DAG) Team develops and implements the policies, standards, and processes that ensure Visa’s data and AI systems are secure, compliant, and innovation-enabling.


Role Overview

Visa is seeking AI-native new college graduates (0–2 years of experience) to join its Data and AI Governance Associate Programme. This structured, rotational programme is designed to build critical competencies in data and AI governance while giving associates exposure to high-impact initiatives across the company.

Over 24 months, associates will complete 3–5 rotations, collaborating with stakeholders across product, engineering, risk, privacy, legal, strategy, finance, marketing, and sales. High-performing participants will be well-positioned for advanced roles within the Data & AI Governance team, the Global Data Office, or other areas of Visa.

This role is based in Foster City, CA and follows a hybrid work model.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of tools, roadmaps, documentation, and training to strengthen Data & AI Governance at Visa
  • Build expertise in Visa’s data and AI products and support initiative owners on governance requirements and risk mitigation
  • Review new data and AI use cases to identify compliance, privacy, and risk considerations
  • Leverage AI and emerging tools to improve efficiency and innovation
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Product, Technology, Privacy, Risk, Cybersecurity, Legal, and regional teams
  • Gather stakeholder feedback to help update and implement governance policies
  • Support metrics, reporting, and communication of performance insights
  • Contribute to training initiatives in data stewardship, lifecycle management, and use case assessments

Eligibility & Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or a related technical field
  • Graduation date between January 2025 and August 2025

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of AI, Generative AI, and Data Science and their real-world applications
  • Experience or training in data governance, data lifecycle management, risk management, or AI-related data science
  • Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, data mining, and data visualisation
  • Familiarity with tools such as Python, Scala, R, SQL, and visualisation platforms like PowerBI or Tableau
  • Understanding of AI governance frameworks and regulated environments
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Experience in project or program management
  • Background in fintech, financial services, payments, or other regulated industries
  • Availability to start August/September 2025 (no early or late start dates)

  • Estimated salary: USD $120,000 per year (may vary by location, skills, and experience)

Additional Information
