The advertising industry thrives on creativity, diversity, and fresh perspectives. Yet, many voices remain underrepresented. The BLAC Internship Program was created to change that reality. By opening doors for Black and underrepresented talent, BLAC ensures that emerging professionals can fully express themselves, find community, and ultimately lead.

This twelve-week summer program is more than just an internship, it is a launchpad for careers, a network for changemakers, and a catalyst for broader industry transformation.

Why BLAC Matters

BLAC exists to:

  • Bring new voices and perspectives into advertising.
  • Provide education, inspiration, experience, and community to emerging creative thinkers.
  • Offer agencies the guidance and tools they need to support diverse talent.
  • Ensure long-term success through mentorship, connections, and career opportunities.

Since its inception, BLAC has supported nearly 300 professionals, many of whom are now thriving in advertising, marketing, and related creative industries.

Program Overview

The BLAC Internship is a paid, twelve-week summer program that places participants in leading agencies across the United States. Interns gain hands-on experience, professional development, and access to a national network of peers and leaders.

Timeline (Summer 2026):

  • May 18 – August 7, 2026
  • Intro Week (May 18 – 22):
    • Onboarding day at host agency.
    • Four days of virtual programming introducing advertising, agency roles, and industry leaders.
  • In Agency (May 26 – July 22):
    • 8½ weeks of hands-on training at host agencies.
    • Exposure to meetings, client calls, and pitches.
    • Twice-weekly virtual sessions for professional development and community building.
  • Pitch Project (July 23 – July 31):
    • Interns briefed by brand representatives.
    • Teams develop and pitch creative concepts to national brands.
  • Career Fair (August 3 – 7):
    • Two days of workshops, guest speakers, and portfolio preparation.
    • Interviews and info sessions with hiring agencies and brands.

Observed Holidays:

  • May 25 (Memorial Day)
  • June 19 (Juneteenth)
  • July 3 (Independence Day observed)

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old by the start of the program.
  • Have authorization to work in the United States (no sponsorship available).
  • Be fully available for the 12-week program, committing to 29 hours per week during standard business hours.
  • Relocation is not required; applicants will only be considered for opportunities close to them or remote placements.
  • Accommodations are available for students finishing spring semester during the first weeks.

Application Process

To apply, candidates must:

  • Create a 2-minute video explaining why the advertising industry needs their voice.
  • Highlight their perspective, experience, talent, skills, and creative thinking.
  • Submit the video along with application responses by the deadline: February 13, 2026.
