The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) invites applications for the UCAS Scholarship for International Students 2026, designed to support outstanding young talents from around the world to pursue Master’s and Doctoral degrees, as well as joint programs, visiting study, research, and academic exchanges at UCAS colleges and CAS institutes.
This scholarship aims to attract high-calibre international students and researchers, strengthen global academic collaboration, and foster future leaders in science and technology.
Scholarship Overview
The UCAS Scholarship offers Full Scholarships and Partial Scholarships, with the full scholarship primarily supporting Master’s and PhD candidates.
1. Full Scholarship Coverage
- Tuition Waiver
- PhD: RMB 40,000/year
- Master’s: RMB 30,000/year
- Monthly Stipend
- PhD: RMB 2,500/month (minimum total ≥ RMB 3,500/month with additional support)
- Master’s: RMB 2,000/month (minimum total ≥ RMB 3,000/month with additional support)
- Accommodation
- Basic accommodation provided in Beijing
- Support arranged for studies at CAS institutes outside Beijing
- Medical Insurance
- RMB 800/year
- Application Fee Waiver
- RMB 600
- Duration
- Up to 36 months (no extension)
2. Partial Scholarship Coverage
- Tuition waiver
- Medical insurance
- Application fee waiver
Duration
- Master’s/PhD: up to 36 months
- Joint programs & visiting students: 6–24 months
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be non-Chinese citizens with a valid foreign passport
- Be proficient in English or Chinese
- Meet UCAS admission requirements for international students
- Not hold another scholarship or assignment during the funding period
Age Requirements
- PhD applicants: born after 1 January 1991
- Master’s applicants: born after 1 January 1996
- Senior visiting students: born after 1 January 1981
- Regular visiting students: born after 1 January 1986
- Joint program applicants: no age limit
Important Notes
- Applicants currently studying for the same degree level in China are not eligible
- Applicants may apply with only one supervisor
