The Nordic Development Fund (NDF), the joint Nordic international finance institution established by Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden, is seeking a Finance & Data Trainee to support financial administration and data management initiatives. NDF works at the intersection of climate change and development, providing catalytic financing to climate-vulnerable countries and communities with an active portfolio of over EUR 450 million.


About the Role

This part-time position (~20 hours/week) offers the flexibility to combine work with studies, with the opportunity to work full-time during June–July. The role is hourly-paid and provides valuable experience in international finance, climate projects, and IT system development.


Responsibilities

Financial Administration

  • Draft correspondence, manage invoicing, and update tracking files for loan payments

  • Provide credit information and support debtors on request

  • Verify and approve disbursement requests, update PMIS, and prepare confirmation letters

  • Record payments and disbursements in SLS for accurate financial reporting

IT Systems & Data Management

  • Test new applications on NDF’s Power Platform (Power Apps and Power BI) to ensure functionality and data quality

  • Contribute to the development of project ideas and visual prototypes

  • Support IT planning, forecasting, and prioritization of system enhancements


Candidate Profile

  • Completed at least 2 years of studies in Accounting, Finance, or related fields (Data Analytics or Computer Science a plus)

  • Strong attention to detail and aptitude for numbers

  • Proficient in Excel and interested in data analytics (Power BI)

  • Confident English communication skills

  • Open-minded, flexible, and eager to learn
