$10,000 Scholarship Awarded to Stony Point Student – Rockland County Times Newspaper

Manhattan University has announced the awarding of the John L. Paluszek Scholarship which carries with it a stipend of $10,000 to Agne Adomauskaite ’26. The Scholarship, with a focus on honoring first generation students majoring in one of the liberal arts and sciences, also has a focus on exemplary community service and superior academic achievements.
Mr. Paluszek, himself a first-generation college student when he attended Manhattan University, aims to highlight those students who are driven to succeed academically while also giving back by engaging in outside work and adhering to the Lasallian mission of respect for all along with fostering an inclusive community.
Ms. Adomauskaite, a native of Stony Point, is a senior majoring in Public Health. Matching the established criteria for the Scholarship, she is a first-generation student (her family hails from Lithuania) with solid academic credentials – having been on the Dean’s List every semester and enjoying an enviable GPA of 3.97. She served as a Resident Advisor (RA) during her sophomore and junior years and currently works part-time at Mercer, a subsidiary of Marsh, the global professional services firm. Adomauskaite speaks of the courage exemplified by her parents in her willingness to take appropriate risks and her desire to “soak up all I can” from all that Manhattan University has to offer. She credits her professors, intimate class sizes, and the overall friendliness of the campus as major factors in her academic success thus far. Congrats, Agne!
