The Mid-Marion County Rotary Club recently awarded 12 $1,000 scholarships to area high school graduates according to a press release from Alesia Owen, Chairperson for the 2025 Scholarship Committee.
Two of the scholarships went to students from the Ozark Mountain School District. One to Jacob Campbell who will be attending North Arkansas College and the other to Jasmine Wright who will be furthering her studies in New York at Adelphi University.
Ten students from Yellville-Summit High School received scholarships with three students, Angelina Chambers, Braedon Greene and Henry Hicklin, planning to attend the University of Central Arkansas, Noah Layton will use his scholarship to go to North Arkansas College while Fay Chism will attend ASU-Jonesboro. The remaining students, which includes Denver Layton, Bryce Ott, Ben Ply, Hunter Raley and Elizabeth Smith all plan to further their education at the University of Arkansas.
The Rotary is a network of people committed to making positive changes in their community. The Mid-Marion County Rotary Club holds an annual Radio Auction and sponsors the annual Turkey Trot Festival in order to earn funds to award these scholarships.
