MOORHEAD — Students at Moorhead High School are receiving $123,000 in scholarships Wednesday, April 30, thanks to the Moorhead Legacy Education Foundation.
This year, 112 Moorhead High School seniors and four alumni will receive funding to help pay for college and pursue their career goals.

The 2024 scholarship total is higher than average, with individual awards ranging from $500 to $6,000. Some of the scholarships are needs-based, while others are directed toward specific career paths, such as teaching.
“I think it speaks to the community. Moorhead is very generous, and they really want to support our students and staff at Moorhead Schools, especially the students needing that assistance to go to college,” said Janelle Leiseth, executive director of the Moorhead Legacy Education Foundation.
Since 1991, the foundation has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to 2,000 Moorhead High School graduates.
