Indiana County Camp Cadet
CHERRYHILL TWP., Pa. (EYT) – The Pennsylvania State Police is pleased to announce that 16 youth completed the requirements of the 2025 Camp Cadet program, which was held last week at Camp Seph Mack, BSA near Penn Run.
Graduates of the 2025 Indiana County Camp Cadet program are as follows: Morgan M. Dwire, Christopher J. Fulmer, Aaron A. Herr, Maverick J. Huey, Jordan B. Janosko, Kade Kunselman, Jadeon C. McMillan, Hollister M. Puzak, William C. Rankin, Addison L. Reiter, Hunter J. Shoup, Landon J. Spence, Benjamin G. Stephens, Martha A. Stubbe, Benjamin C. Valazak, and Jaydan M. Williams.
Cadets receiving awards were Jordan B. Janosko (Top Male Award), Martha A. Stubbe (Top Female Award), Jaydan M. Williams (Alternate Top Male Award), Addison L. Reiter (Alternate Top Female Award), Benjamin C. Valazak (Academic Award), Benjamin G. Stephens (Athletic Achievement Award), Jaydan M. Williams (Best in Drill Award), Landon J. Spence (High Marksman Award), Hunter J. Shoup (Most Improved Cadet Award), and Morgan M. Dwire (Perseverance Award).
Serving as senior cadets were Marlee J. Barner, Carmen L. McAdoo, Omari J. Miller, and Trystan A. Sealey.
Cadets received instruction throughout the week in the form of presentations and demonstrations from the following agencies and individuals: the Pennsylvania Game Commission, REA Energy Cooperative, Inc., the Blairsville Volunteer Fire Department Water Rescue Team, the Indiana Borough Police Department Canine Tracking Team, Magisterial District Judge Christopher Welch, Indiana County District Attorney Robert Manzi, Jr., the Pennsylvania National Guard, the Indiana Fire Association, Indiana County Emergency Management Agency/911, Citizens’ Ambulance Service, the Indiana County Coroner’s Office, and the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections SCI Pine Grove Corrections Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.).
Also providing presentations and demonstrations were the Pennsylvania State Police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, the Troop A Forensic Services Unit, the Bureau of Criminal Investigation Computer Crime Unit, the Hazardous Device and Explosives Section, the Explosives Detection Canine Unit, and the Aviation Patrol Unit. Cadets also received a Stop-the-Bleed certification as well as training on CPR and first aid and assisting a person who is choking.
Troopers also presented two previous graduates of Indiana County Camp Cadet with a scholarship award in the amount of $1,000 to be used as they attend a college, trade, or technical school in pursuit of a post-secondary degree. Scholarships were awarded to Jessica Barger and Paige Clawson.
The Indiana County Camp Cadet, Inc. board of directors would like to thank the Indiana County and surrounding community for their ongoing support. Since 2008, community donations have provided meals, lodging, and programs so that they may be offered at no cost to participants.
