A pair of 2024 graduates from Butler Senior High School and Knoch High School, respectively, are the recipients of the annual Starwood Scholarships.
Butler graduate Lauren LeGrand, the daughter of Tom and Laura LeGrand, will receive $20,000 over the four years of her postsecondary education.
LeGrand will attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the fall, where she will major in criminology and pre-law.
Knoch graduate Sierra Mock, the daughter of David and Dawn Mock, also will receive the $20,000 scholarship over four years.
Mock will attend Bloomsburg University to pursue a degree in nursing.
The Starwood Scholarship is provided through the Pittsburgh Foundation by a Butler couple who are retired teachers and respect the importance of education. This year marks the 10th year the couple, who do not wish to be named, have provided the scholarship.
Graduating seniors of the Butler and Knoch school districts who attain a grade-point average between 2.5 and 3.5 can apply for the scholarship online through the Pittsburgh Foundation.
