Springfield, IL – The Illinois Conservation Foundation (ICF) is accepting applications for its 2025 Conservation Achievement Scholarship program. High school seniors with a passion for preserving Illinois’ natural resources are encouraged to apply.
The program, established in 2005, awards $2,000 scholarships to four outstanding students each year. One scholarship is reserved for a dependent of a current Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) employee. Recipients are recognized for their voluntary, long-term dedication to conservation stewardship within the state.

“The ICF Conservation Achievement Scholarship program rewards high school students interested in conservation stewardship and protecting Illinois’ natural resources,” said Illinois Department of Natural Resources Director Natalie Phelps Finnie.
Eligible students must be Illinois residents and enrolled as seniors in Illinois high schools. Applications, including all required documents, must be submitted by March 1, 2025.
Detailed application instructions and forms are available on the ICF website. Questions can be directed to the Illinois Conservation Foundation at 217-785-2003 or info@ilconservation.org. Donations to support the program are also welcomed.
This initiative supports the next generation of environmental leaders while fostering a commitment to protecting Illinois’ natural heritage.
