Blast From the Past announced its senior scholarship recipients in May for students that showcased their skills in the program, helped it grow during their time participating and excelled in the arts.
The Blast From the Past of Chilton County Board of Directors chose seniors Kate Calhoun, daughter of Jason and Sherri Calhoun, Chloe Street, daughter of Steve and Debbie Street, Addyson Williams, daughter of Kendall and Kathy Williams and Jeremiah White, son of Keisha White as the recipients of the four $1,000 scholarships. Calhoun and Street graduated from Chilton County High School, Williams from Isabella High School and White from Verbena High School all following this past school year.
Since the program’s inception in 1993, Blast From the Past of Chilton County scholarships have been handed out each year to seniors in the program. The recipients are chosen not only based on their participation in Blast, but their musical involvement outside of the program as well such as the school band, church choir, art classes and more. The scholarships awarded can be used at any college, university or postsecondary career training the students decide to embark on following high school.
